When Johnny Cash With His Hot And Blue Guitar was originally released in 1957, Cash became the first Sun artist to release a long playing album. A mix of classic tunes (like Leadbelly’s “Rock Island Line”, Hank Williams’ “*I Heard Thatplus Lonesome Whistle”, and Jimmie Skinner’s “Doin’ My Time”) and a handful of Cash’s own soon-to-be classics (like “Country Boy”), this album put the 23-year-old Cash fast on the fast track to superstardom. All songs taken from 1957 Sun studio sessions. Track listing - Side A: 1. Rock Island Line 2. (I Heard That) Lonesome Whistle 3. Country Boy 4. If The Good Lord’s Willing 5. Don't Make Me Go 6. Remember Me 7. Big River Side B: 1. Give My Love To Rose 2. I Was There When It Happened 3. Next In Line 4. Wreck Of Old ’97 5. Belshazzar 6. Doin’ My Time
